Thaw out from the winter chill with this comfort classic. Simple ingredients coupled with our deliciously savory herb blend make for a filling meal that's sure to warm you up on a cold winter evening.
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1 large yellow onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 3 cups chicken, cooked and shredded
- 1 can (10.5oz) cream of chicken soup
- 32oz chicken broth
- 1 can (8oz) evaporated milk
- 2 cans southern style biscuits
- ¼ cup all-purpose flour
- 3 tbsp Savage Jerky Herb Blend, divided
- Salt and pepper
Open and separate canned biscuits and cut into quarters. In a large bowl combine biscuits with flour and one tbsp of Herb Blend, toss to coat evenly, set aside.
In a large pot, melt butter over medium heat and sauté onion until translucent, about 5 minutes. Add garlic and cook for an additional minute. Add chicken broth, evaporated milk, 2 tbsp Savage Jerky Herb Blend and chicken to pot, stirring to combine.
Bring soup to a boil, then reduce to a simmer and let cook for 30 minutes. When ready to serve, add biscuits to soup a few at a time and let cook in simmering liquid for 10-15 minutes, until dumplings are cooked through.
